Chilled water plant efficiency measured against achievable benchmarks.
View serviceDistributed pumping with the Grundfos MAGNA3 — flow matched to real demand across primary and secondary chilled water circuits.
The Grundfos MAGNA3 is a circulator pump with a permanent magnet motor, suited to heating, cooling and domestic hot water circulation — which makes it a workable choice for almost any building project, old or new.
Its efficiency, range and built-in communication capability, plus functions that replace separate system components, make it a fit for owners, engineers and specifiers building high-performance systems. It has no maintenance requirements and an extremely low life cycle cost.
Instead of one central pump sized for the worst case and throttled everywhere else, flow is generated where it is needed. The pump follows demand rather than fighting a balancing valve.
MAGNA3 offers the full range of control modes expected of a state-of-the-art circulator. Two of them are what set it apart, and two more apply on top of whichever mode is selected.
The pump learns the system it is installed in and continuously adjusts its curve to suit it.
Adaptive control with a flow ceiling, so the circuit never over-pumps.
A hard flow limit, applicable with any MAGNA3 control mode.
Drops output when the building is unoccupied. Also applicable with any control mode.
MAGNA3 handles liquids down to −10 °C, which suits both tough industrial duties and ground source heat pump systems. Liquid temperature is independent of ambient temperature, so a hot plant room does not narrow the operating envelope.
Pump sizing is issued per circuit rather than published as a table. Send us the circuit and we will size it.
The primary application in YITAC's work is chilled water. The wider MAGNA3 range covers heating and domestic hot water in the same pump family.
